Salsa traces it’s origins to the Aztecs, Incas and Mayans from Mexico, who had different variations of the dip, and was popularized by the Spanish. The good thing about today’s recipe is it’s easy and healthy.

Simple Homemade Salsa Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 scallions (green onions)
- ⅓ cup chopped red onions
- 5 red tomatoes
- 1 pepper
- 1 handful coriander (or just ⅓ a cup)
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- ½ tsp chili powder
- Salt and pepper
- ¼ tsp Cumin (ground)
- ½ tsp Sugar (this is optional)
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend until all the ingredients are finely chopped and mixed.
- Serve with chips.
Notes
Cindy's tidbits:
- Salsa tastes best after refrigeration for a couple of hours.
- Store in refrigerator for up to one week.
