Coconut rice recipe
Prepare light, flavourful, and extraordinarily delicious coconut rice. The good thing about this recipe is that it takes 30 minutes and you'll be on your way to flavor town. Coconut rice is a popular dish across different cuisines and can be easily paired with other dishes to complete a satisfying meal. Best served hot!! Enjoy
Ingredients
- 2 cups Basmati Rice
- 2 tsps Salt
- 500 ml Coconut Milk
- 500 ml Water
Instructions
- Wash and rinse the rice.
- Put the rice, salt, coconut milk and water in a pan. Bring the ingredients to a boil, stirring occasionally.
- Once boiled, reduce heat then cover and simmer gently until for about 20 minutes.
- Fluff the rice and serve.
Notes
It's not mandatory to use Basmati rice but in my experience it's a great one to go with when preparing coconut rice.
When using a rice cooker, use 1/2 less cup of water and simmer for about 5 to 10 minutes.
